Simple Pizza Sauce
No complex cooking, no distracting aromatics, just delicious tomato flavor.
- 1 CAN san marzano tomatoes, packed in puree
- kosher salt
- black pepper
- Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl. Split each tomato open with your fingers and scrape the seeds into the strainer. Once seeded, place the tomatoes in the bowl.
- Crush the tomatoes with your hands or with a potato masher. Add the tomato puree from the can and combine it with the freshly crushed tomatoes.
- Season to taste with kosher salt and black pepper.
